London has plenty of good restaurants both expensive and cheap and of all kinds of different cuisines. I tend to mainly eat Japanese when I go to London because in my opinion it has some of the best Japanese and Asian restaurants in Europe. London also has a lot of cute little cafes and coffee places.
For breakfast:
Saddle is located right on Knightsbridge street and is a perfect place for breakfast. It is quite small and cosy but great to go before a walk in Hyde Park or around the Kensington/Knightsbridge area.

Another great place for breakfast or lunch is Granger and Co. They have many locations all over London, in Marylebone, Chelsea, Kensington and others, but my favorite is in Chelsea. They do great scrambled eggs and avocado toasts.
Maison Ani is my favorite place for lunch (but the breakfast there is also good). They have a great selection of french and Mediterranean dishes and the atmosphere is very good as well as the decorations. I recommend getting the french “escargots”, burger in a baguette, blueberry feta salad, and the grilled chicken. I am sure that everyone will find something they would enjoy at this restaurant. Its location is also great if you are strolling around Knightsbridge/Chelsea/Kensington.

London has a lot of great Japanese restaurants and some are fancier than others however that does not mean they are the best. My favorite one is called Dinings SW3 and its located in an alley in Knightsbridge. It is has a good variety of dishes and a lot of traditional Japanese ones as well as some more modern ones. My favorites are the crispy rice with salmon, Otoro tuna maki, and the hand rolls. This place is definitely worth it.

The cool thing about London is that it also has plenty of food courts and food markets. Every Saturday there is the Duke of York market in Chelsea which has a selection of different cakes, sweets and other savory dishes.
Another market I would recommend to go to is the Borough Market because it is so iconic in London and has a selection of dishes from all over the world. The chocolate covered strawberries are definitely a must.
During the Christmas season on one weekend there is the Novikov Food Market. They serve different kinds of meat, pasta, fish and some Asian dishes. The atmosphere is amazing and very festive. They even have fake snow and a dj so it isn’t like your typical food market.

China Town is a must visit when in London. There are a lot of different shops, cafes and restaurants here and it is impossible to try all of them but there are two cafes I really enjoyed and that offer unique food. The first one if Tsujiri and they have different desserts with matcha and traditional Japanese sweets. I recommend getting the original sundae soft serve.

The second place is called Hefaure and they have fluffy Japanese pancakes with different toppings. There isn’t a lot of space so be prepared to get them take away.

Lastly, because London is so diverse, there is also a Slavic restaurant I really enjoy called Mari Vanna which serves all the traditional dishes from Slavic countries. My recommendations are the platter of pickled vegetables, blinis with meat, the traditional Olivier salad and the napoleon cake for dessert. There are a lot of good dishes here but these are my personal favorites from my childhood.
